Job Title
Key Account Manager – PG&F (Precision Grinding & Finishing)
3M – Industrial Business Group | PG&F
Western & Southern India (Extensive travel required)
The KAM – PG&F will be responsible for developing and growing the Precision Grinding & Finishing business across Western and Southern India. The role focuses on key account development, application-driven selling, and channel management across prioritized industrial segments such as Gear Manufacturing, Primary Metals, Cutting Tools, and Cylindrical Grinding markets.
The position requires close collaboration with Application Engineering teams to introduce new applications, drive adoption of innovative products, and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
Drive and exceed annual sales targets for the assigned territory
Develop PG&F business in prioritized market segments and key accounts
Identify, penetrate, and grow strategic key accounts (end users)
Work closely with Application Engineers to develop new applications and sell new products
Build, manage, and expand distributor and channel networks to increase market coverage
Ensure timely collections and maintain zero overdue payments
Conduct effective sales calls with high daily productivity
Deliver professional product demonstrations, basic product training, and handle product complaints
Sustain existing business while creating incremental new business opportunities
Provide accurate demand and inventory forecasts to the marketing team
Execute territory-level business plans and track progress against objectives
Share regular market and competitor insights with the marketing team
Maintain proactive communication with the reporting manager and submit monthly reports on time
Ensure zero violation of 3M’s Business Ethics Standards, including strict travel and expense compliance
Education
Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering
Experience
3–5 years of experience in industrial sales
Prior exposure to abrasives, cutting tools, or lubricants preferred
Strong knowledge of abrasives will be a significant advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication skills; fluent in English
Knowledge of local languages in the assigned region is an added advantage
Good computer and reporting skills
Willingness to travel extensively (up to 15 days per month) across West & South India
High integrity and strong sense of responsibility
