You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we redefine the experience for our customers. Pricing is essential to GEICO’s continued success as one of the nation’s leading auto insurers. Intern duties consist of determining rates for our various insurance products, analyzing and projecting drivers of loss trends, developing and enhancing new insurance products, examining and setting loss reserves, working with data infrastructure, and much more! Your work will inform a wide range of critical business decisions.  

GEICO’s AIP has three distinct tracks within the CFO Organization (Controllers, Finance & Operations, and Pricing). 

In the Pricing Track you will: 

  • Directly impact GEICO's growth and profitability by working alongside other analysts on various projects and analysis 

  • Have an impact from day one, forming the basis for truly transformative solutions 

 

During your paid 10-week summer internship, all interns will:  

  • Work on actuarial projects such as rate reviews, filings, reserving loss projections, and ad hoc analysis which directly impact our company and customers.  

  • Develop and present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groups.  

  • Gain valuable real-world experience using various technical applications such as Excel, R, SAS, and Power BI.  

  • Be introduced to GEICO’s business objectives and initiatives through active participation in internship forums and departmental meetings.  

  • Participate in insurance, pricing, reserving, actuarial, and technical trainings.  

  • Participate in social and networking events. 

  • Have an opportunity to interview for a full-time position at the completion of the internship. 

   

Candidate Qualifications & Skills:  

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study with expected graduation by May 2027 

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Please upload ALL transcripts as part of the application process)  

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities  

  • Highly effective communication skills  

  • Intermediate skills in Excel 

  • Basic proficiency with data analysis software such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI, and/or similar tooling 

  • Self-driven, motivated, and leadership potential  

  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely results 

  • Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions 

  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills 

  • Must live within commutable distance from one of our offices in Chevy Chase, MD or Chicago, IL, and work a hybrid schedule, including working from the office at least three days per week 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Annual Salary

$55,350.00 - $115,825.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
