About the Role:

Insmed Innovation UK is part of Insmed Incorporated, a global biopharmaceutical company revolutionizing treatments for patients with serious and rare diseases. Located at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, we're at the forefront of targeting novel, first-in-class therapeutics through our groundbreaking synthetic rescue platform.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyse cutting-edge genomic datasets using GWAS and rare variant association studies 
  • Develop novel statistical or machine learning methods for genetic and phenotypic analysis 
  • Create and validate polygenic risk scores for rare disease phenotypes 
  • Develop and curate phenotypic information to aid in understanding disease biology 
  • Annotate and prioritize genetic variants using advanced computational tools 

Who You Are:

  • Currently pursuing a MS or PhD in Statistical Genetics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, or related field 
  • Strong foundation in statistical genetics principles 
  • Proficiency in R orPython, and familiarity with genetic analysis tools (e.g., PLINK, BOLT-LMM, SAIGE, as well as core bioinformatic command-line tools) 
  • Experience with genomic data formats and Linux/Unix environments 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills 

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of rare disease  
  • Understanding of RNAseq 
  • Experience with curating ICD-10 or other medical coding data 
  • Cloud and / or high-performance computing experience

Duration and Location 

  • 10-12 weeks (Summer 2026), you must be able to start June 23rd and complete on Sept 11th  
  • Full-time commitment (40 hours per week)
