About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Global Benefits, the Benefits Manager is a key member of the team; assisting with the administration and communication of U.S. and Canada benefit plans. You will serve as the lead for our welfare and financial benefits including life & accident insurance, leave of absence & disability programs. And you will support the administration of 401k and pension plans. Your commitment and focus on details, together with a passion for process enhancement & continuous improvement will be essential for success in this role. This is a hybrid role, in office 2-3 days per week.

You Will:

  • Serve as the U.S. and Canada benefits liaison, responding to inquiries from employees, managers, and the People Team.
  • Partner with our vendors, brokers, and cross-functional teams including Payroll, HRIS, People Team, Legal, Procurement, IT Security and Finance to ensure smooth operation of our benefit programs.
  • Be the lead for U.S. & Canada Leave of Absence, providing oversight of the third-party administrators, ensuring data accuracy, resolving escalation and leading process improvement.
  • Support operation of the 401k plan including annual non-discrimination testing, audit and true up.
  • Support benefits administration including new hire enrollments, life events and annual open enrollment.
  • Assist with compliance efforts related to employee benefits, including ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA).
  • Identify, assess, and analyze gaps and deficiencies in our current offerings and administration processes, and make recommendations for improvements.

You Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • In-depth understanding of employee benefits, including leave of absence and retirement programs, and regulations governing benefits.
  • Proficiency in HRIS system and benefits administration software. Workday experience highly preferred.
  • A proven track record of thriving in high-tech environment and successfully managing complex projects.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $88,000-$105,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
