At The Coca-Cola Company, we are proud to be one of the world’s most recognized and respected brands, with a legacy spanning over 139 years and a portfolio of more than 200 brands enjoyed by millions globally. Our mission is simple yet powerful: refresh the world and make a difference.
We are seeking a Senior Director, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (SRA) to lead ingredient, nutrition, and regulatory advocacy in Brazil, shaping the external scientific, regulatory, and public policy environment in support of our portfolio and long-term growth strategy. This role is pivotal in protecting business continuity, strengthening stakeholder trust, and enabling science-based decision-making across the system.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in scientific and regulatory affairs, nutrition science, and public policy advocacy, along with strong enterprise leadership capability and a proven ability to influence outcomes in complex, evolving regulatory environments. If you are passionate about shaping external dialogue and delivering sustainable business impact, we want you on our team.
What You'll Do for Us
• Lead scientific and regulatory thought leadership, stewardship, and governance for ingredients and nutrition, aligned with global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (SRA) strategies and standards.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term advocacy strategies across ingredients, nutrition science, food safety, and emerging regulatory risks, with a primary focus on Brazil and strong alignment to global priorities.
• Shape the external regulatory and public policy environment by building and sustaining trusted relationships with regulators, policymakers, scientific experts, trade associations, NGOs, and key opinion leaders.
• Represent The Coca-Cola Company in relevant industry associations, regulatory bodies, and scientific forums, providing leadership and influencing collective action on priority nutrition, food safety, and regulatory issues.
• Anticipate, assess, and manage scientific and regulatory risks and opportunities, protecting company reputation while enabling portfolio innovation and growth.
• Partner closely with Public Affairs, Legal, R&D, Marketing, and Franchise Operations to ensure aligned advocacy, issue management, and effective execution.
• Oversee discretionary budgets and external scientific and regulatory resources, ensuring disciplined investment aligned with regional and global priorities.
• Build, develop, and retain high-performing Scientific and Regulatory Affairs talent and external capability networks to deliver sustained impact in Brazil.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Science, or a related scientific discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, Nutrition Science, Public Policy, or related functions within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), food, beverage, or other regulated industries.
• Proven experience leading ingredient and nutrition advocacy and engaging effectively with government regulators, policymakers, and scientific communities.
• Strong enterprise mindset with the ability to lead through influence in complex, matrixed, and multicultural environments.
• Demonstrated strategic judgment, with the ability to translate scientific insight into clear advocacy, regulatory, and business strategies.
• Experience managing senior external partnerships, third-party providers, and budgets.
• Fluency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
• Willingness to travel as required to support regional and global objectives
What We'll Do for You
• Global Exposure: Collaborate with global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs leaders and contribute to enterprise-wide strategies, regulatory positioning, and best practices.
• Iconic Brands: Help steward and protect one of the world’s most recognized and trusted beverage and consumer brands.
• Learning & Development: Access world-class learning resources, leadership development programs, and continuous growth opportunities.
• Purpose-Driven Work: Play a meaningful role in advancing science-based policy, public trust, and sustainable business growth.
