Position Summary
The Shared Business Services Hub provides financial and human resources transaction processing and payroll monitoring services to various University departments. This position provides a wide range of financial services to departments supported by the Shared Business Services Hub including financial transaction processing, accounting, financial reporting and analysis.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Processes online documents in Workday, such as purchase orders, change orders, supplier invoice requests, expense reports, Marketplace orders, internal service delivery documents, supplier invoices, journals and cash sales deposits. Insures expenditures are within budget, and are properly recorded and approved.
- Serves as primary point of contact and resource for assistance with business services, providing professional and courteous customer service to departments supported by the Shared Business Services Hub.
- Acts as liaison between the department, vendors and central area functions such as Accounts Payable, Resource Management, General Accounting, Human Resources and Payroll.
- Assists with analysis of department revenue and expenditures and preparation of financial reports as assigned. Monitors account balances, maintains open encumbrances, and processes budget amendments and journals as needed.
- Assists with closing procedures and works with the Tax Department to insure all tax documentation is completed as required.
- Maintains complete and up-to-date Shared Business Services Hub desk manual. Continually look for opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy of transactions. Participates in pilot projects and provides feedback on system and process enhancements during development and implementation. Facilitates process changes as mandated.
- Ensures consistency of accounting practices and adherence to university policies and procedures. Maintains a thorough up to date knowledge of policies and procedures, including the university’s statement of internal controls.

- This is a hybrid position that primarily allows working from home, with the requirement to come to the West Campus or Danforth Campus locations for meetings as needed.

Salary Range
$21.17 - $32.85 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
