About This Opportunity

Warner Bros International TV Production (WBITVP) is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Belgium entertainment television production company, who will be responsible for conceptualizing, building and executing the company’s strategy, in order to be a leading television producer in the market.

Reporting to the EVP & Head of International Television Production, the MD will be responsible for delivering a business that develops, sells and produces television programming to the highest standards. Programming will be based on original development, WBD formats and third-party formats, covering studio entertainment, documentaries, reality and realistic fiction and continues to build on a well-established business.

WBITVP Belgium produces programmes for both Flemish and French-speaking public and commercial channels and also co-produces with sister companies in Holland on certain titles.

The Managing Director of WBITVP Belgium will work closely with the Managing Director, Eyeworks Film and Drama. Together, they represent Belgium within the WBITVP group of companies. Whilst both have distinct and separate labels, concentrating on their specialist slates, they share back-office support and staff and infrastructure.

The Managing Director WBITVP Belgium will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and implementing the company’s strategy in connection with the development, pitching, selling and production of programming in Belgium

  • Working with WBITVP to prepare business plans and financial forecasts, and ensuring that budgets are met and commercial activities are maximized

  • Managing a team of experienced TV executives

  • Overseeing and actively contributing to the company’s creative process (both development and production), with the ultimate responsibility of the production slate

  • Actively participating in marketing and sales activities, including pitching formats and programmes to broadcasters, as well as in the deal making process

  • Bringing and maintaining privileged relationships with talent (producers, presenters, actors etc.), broadcasters, policy makers and other relevant industry institutions

  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of the latest market developments and international formats (both Warner Bros. and third party)

  • Coordinating interactions with WBITVP’s London headquarters (including creative, operational and financial reporting) and Warner Bros. Discovery networks

  • Senior management role in one of Belgium’s leading TV production companies or broadcasters

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team. In particular, is able to demonstrate the ability to efficiently manage creative processes and projects

  • Outstanding TV production expertise, with ideally a focus on the factual and entertainment genres

  • Creative acumen and vision

  • Strong relationships with key Belgium broadcasters and talent

  • Excellent knowledge of every aspects of a company’s operations (including finance, HR, legal, IT etc.)

  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to successfully manage multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Must be culturally flexible and speak English fluently

  • Experience in DEI initiatives across both Workforce and Creative strongly desirable
