Overview:

This role provides analyst support to Regulatory Remediation Management.  The analyst will support the enterprise-wide regulatory remediation management program by gathering and analyzing information related to the various aspects of remediation efforts, including remediation planning, status updates on execution and management reporting.  This role will assist in creating related communications and presentations.  This function serves as eGRC system support for Regulatory Affairs and acts in the role of Secretary of the Regulatory Remediation Committee.  

An essential requirement of this role is organizational skills, attention to detail and clear, concise, and timely communication with various stakeholders, including remediation plan owners.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create presentation materials and coordinate and conduct effective meetings with internal stakeholders and regulators.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of Exam, Finding, and Remediation data into eGRC system.   Responsible for the accuracy of reporting based on Data extracted from the eGRC system.
  • Participate as Secretary on the Regulatory Remediation Committee. Support the scheduling of committee meetings, maintain the committee documentation, attend meetings and create meeting minutes.  
  • Maintain the Remediation Center of Excellence SharePoint Site.
  • Create monthly reporting for Regulatory Affairs, including Finding, Remediation, and Exam data. 
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Remediation Management procedure documentation.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely and thorough implementation of regulatory and internal audit requirements
  • Participate in various ad hoc projects at a commensurate level of proficiency.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand
  • Develop communications on regulatory remediation portfolio and initiatives used across various levels in the organization with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Participate in, and document, meeting discussions and summarize takeaways to drive accountability and transparency.
  • Own the resolution of eGRC data issues and requirements, in collaboration with eGRC product owners.
  • Analyze information, determine feasibility of solutions and make recommendations to support Remediation Management.
  • Question departmental status quo by consistently pushing for innovation and improved solutions.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to support effective delivery of outcomes. 
  • Develop, track and report on outcomes and key measures of success for transformation initiatives.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience or in lieu of a degree five (5) years combined education and relevant experience.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage professional and effective meetings among bank regulators and M&T line of business

personnel.

Ability to effectively and efficiently understand existing and new bank industry regulations.

Demonstrated proficiency to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner (written and verbal), including translation of data into

customer-appropriate information and insights.

Strong organization and administrative skills.

Detail oriented.

Proficiency with MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Proven analytical skills.

Proven skills to discern relevancy of new regulations to M&T and align with business line(s).

Ability to work independently while also demonstrating collaboration among stakeholders.

Ability to apply critical thinking skills and challenge status quo.

Education and Experience Required:

Experience in financial reporting, audit, or similar field preferred.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Five years minimum relevant work experience.

Knowledge of M&T Bank business unit structure, associated products and services (and related internal personnel network).

Direct regulatory compliance experience.

Project management and presentation skills.

Working knowledge of Archer Enterprise Governance, Risk & Compliance platform.

Physical Requirements:

Travel may be required in minimal instances.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $93,581.10 - $155,968.51 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role. The specific pay range applicable to you may vary based on your location.
