Job Description:

Provider Practice Consultant (OB / Maternity) JR129816

Location: Must reside within 50 miles and 1 hr commute of our Topeka, Kansas or Overland Park, Kansas location.

Travel: This role will involve travel within the state of Kansas to meet with provider practices. Providers that are > than 100 miles will require virtual presentations. (Mileage is reimbursable.)

The OB Practice Consultant is responsible for creating a partnership relationship with providers and key Health Plan leads, to support initiatives and ensure our members receive a fully integrated and accountable system of care.

How you will make an impact:

  • Assess current practice patterns, assets, and challenges utilizing NCQA Standards, HEDIS audits, site reviews, and medical records reviews.

  • In partnership with the OB provider, evaluate the results of the initial assessment.

  • Establishes a project plan with the practice that establishes goals and objectives for improvement.

  • Provides ongoing practice support and sustains the partnership.

  • Establishes regular meetings to track progress.

  • Improves the understanding and sensitivity to the unique needs of this population and the caregivers.

  • Ensures OB providers are offering evidenced-based care to members and driving quality improvement

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires AS in nursing and minimum of 5 years of managed care experience and minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and minimum of 2 years of professional presentations to small and large audiences; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current, unrestricted (RN, NP, or PA) clinical license in the state of Kansas required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN in nursing.

  • Managed care experience.

  • 2 years combination of OB/GYN, Mother/Baby, L & D clinical experience.

  • Outpatient/Clinic experience preferred.

  • Travel within the state of Kansas up to 20%.
