Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

This position is located in Elko, NV

JOB PURPOSE

As a Machine Emergency Response Representative your primary responsibility will be to minimize machine downtime by enhancing parts availability and delivery processes. We are seeking a proactive individual with a strong sense of urgency to effectively resolve machine emergencies. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and that our customers remain satisfied.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the process of sourcing parts for machines that are down, particularly those with long lead times.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and local vendors to find immediate local solutions or alternatives, including workshops, new machines, and refurbished parts.
  • Partner with Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSRs), Product Specialists, Product Masters, and workshops to identify alternative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective sourcing networks, including global and local warehouses, authorized local suppliers, and parts alternatives (assemblies).
  • Provide access to technical information during machine emergencies to facilitate quick resolutions.
  • Work closely with Customer Sales Support Representatives to ensure clear and consistent communication with customers during machine emergencies.
  • Monitor the reasons behind parts shortages and collaborate with various departments to mitigate these issues.
  • Assist in arranging the swift delivery of parts to the site during machine down situations.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, customer needs, product developments, and technical best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and high satisfaction levels across the Sandvik network.
  • Provide support to Customer Sales Support Representatives and Product Support Sales Representatives if needed during On-Call Machine Down Situations.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years directly related industry experience
  • System and Technical knowledge

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Higher education in industry related degree (Preferred)

·         Machinery Operation Knowledge: Understanding the operation, maintenance, and protocols of various machinery used in mining and construction.

·         Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical systems to support with issues during emergencies.

·         Decision-Making Ability: Skill in making quick and effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
