Role Summary 

The Production Controller supports the Raleigh manufacturing site by managing production capacity and coordinating shop floor activity. This role works cross-functionally with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve work order-related issues and remove production constraints. The Production Controller also monitors production performance and helps ensure the site has the capacity and coordination needed to meet operational commitments. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and monitor production capacity to support the site schedule and customer demand 

  • Coordinate work order execution and help resolve WO-related issues on the shop floor 

  • Partner with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to address production obstacles and corrective actions 

  • Monitor production/planning performance metrics and escalate issues as needed 

  • Support daily production coordination across operations and support functions 

  • Help identify and remove constraints affecting flow, output, and schedule execution 

  • Communicate production priorities, constraints, and recovery actions to relevant stakeholders 

  • Track open shop floor issues and support follow-through to closure 

  • Work cross-functionally to support smooth execution of the production plan 

  • Provide regular updates to site leadership on capacity and execution risks  

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.  

  • Experience in manufacturing operations, production coordination, or shop floor support 

  • Strong understanding of production flow, work orders, and capacity management 

  • Ability to work effectively with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams 

  • Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills 

  • Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills 

  • Ability to monitor production metrics and identify execution risks 

  • Proficiency with ERP or manufacturing systems and Microsoft Excel 

  • Comfortable working in a complex and non-linear production environment 

  • APICS-CPIM training is a plus
