Job Description Summary
If you're an engineer who finds energy in solving complex problems — and in helping others grow — this role puts you at the center of both. As a Lead Engineer in Accessories Systems at GE Vernova, you'll shape how critical auxiliary systems are designed, integrated, and brought to life across high-impact power generation products. You'll bring technical depth, cross-functional thinking, and a collaborative approach to a team that values both rigor and creativity.
This is a role for someone who is ready to lead — not just execute.
Job Description
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of project scope, schedules, and control frameworks for complex customer engineering projects — ensuring alignment across Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing, and Engineering sub-contractors.
- Drive globally consistent project control specifications and common implementation processes, identifying opportunities to improve standards and practices across the function.
- Provide direct people leadership — including hiring, performance development, and building team capability — while also contributing as a hands-on technical expert.
- Apply analytical thinking and deep technical knowledge to resolve complex, interdependent engineering challenges, proposing solutions that go beyond standard parameters when the situation demands it.
- Act as a go-to resource and informal mentor for colleagues, communicating performance expectations clearly and building team alignment on technically complex topics.
Who You Are
You're a technically grounded engineer with a proven track record in accessories or auxiliary systems design — someone who is equally comfortable deep in the detail and stepping back to see the bigger picture. You bring a systems mindset, a collaborative spirit, and the confidence to lead when it matters.
Required
- Solid experience in engineering or technology within accessories or auxiliary systems disciplines — equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop practical, well-reasoned solutions.
- Experience working across teams and contributing to cross-functional decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts clearly for varied audiences.
- Require to visit project site and relocate to site office when required.
Preferred
- Familiarity with project management practices and the ability to lead small-to-mid-scale engineering efforts.
- Experience mentoring or developing junior engineers.
- Exposure to competitive or market analysis within an engineering or industrial context.
A formal Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
