What we want

The Program Aide (PRN) provides assistance for Mortality Review Program, to include compiling, reviewing, and analyzing data for inclusion in high-profile reports; reviewing and abstracting information from medical records; and writing job aid reference materials. This is a wage position established to accommodate a temporary organizational need. As such, TAMU does not guarantee any set number of hours or length of employment in this role.

Salary: $22.00/hour   

Location/Schedule: College Station, TX/Part-Time

Responsibilities

Data Analyzation

  • Updates data spreadsheets to include all components of mortality review reports

  • Creates tables and graphs using compiled data to reflect findings for semiannual reports

  • Updates semiannual report template with current findings and data points

  • Researches current trends in national mortality review findings

Job Aid Materials

  • Assists the Program Manager with development of job aids, training materials, and templates. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Mortality Report Abstraction

  • Reviews medical records

  • Documents relevant information from patient records into abstraction document

  • Updates mortality reports with demographic and administrative information

Required Education and Experience

  • College Degree in health-related field

  • Three years of experience related to medical records review

  • Three years of experience related to data compilation and analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with intellectually disabled and/or geriatric population

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to compile data, create graphs and charts, and analyze data into narrative format.

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing

  • Ability to positively and professionally interact with team members and staff

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs
