We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Operations Centre Supervisor to join our Fremantle Office on a permanent full-time basis, Monday to Friday. In this role, you will lead a 24/7 rostered team responsible for coordinating tug schedules and crew allocations across multiple ports in WA, SA, and NT, while also managing a small team of office administrative staff.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the local General Manager, your key responsibilities in this position will include:

  • Lead and motivate rostered team members to strive for high standards, promoting a culture of teamwork, and drive to meet business objectives.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and career development for team members.

  • Manage the team roster and ensure shift coverage, coordinating relief as needed to maintain seamless operations.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Operations and Office Assistants, ensuring efficient document management and office coordination.

  • Review monthly credit note reports and collaborate with the Finance team on reporting and commentary.

  • Support the preparation of tender responses for port licences, commercial tenders, and ad-hoc business opportunities.

  • Monitor market conditions, identifying competitive threats and new business opportunities for local and regional operations.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency and performance.

  • Assist in the review and optimisation of vessel schedules, ensuring compliance with both operational and customer requirements.

  • Step in to provide relief support in the Operations Centre as needed to maintain operational continuity.

What You Will Need To Succeed

To thrive this position, you should demonstrate:

  • Experience leading a team in resource or personnel scheduling within industries such as maritime, rail, or aviation is highly transferable.

  • A customer-focused approach with strong leadership skills to coach, motivate, and enhance team performance.

  • Strong analytical and conflict resolution skills, capable of solving complex problems with positive outcomes.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with discretion when handling confidential information.

  • An understanding of how to interpret enterprise agreements and operational protocols to ensure compliance.

  • Ability to quickly get up to speed with computer-based systems and processes.

  • Resilience and adaptability, able to manage routine tasks while staying calm and responsive during high-pressure situations or emergencies.
