Job Description

Summary

The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a positive workplace culture. You will assist in recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leave, payroll processes, employee relations, performance management, and training initiatives to promote organizational effectiveness.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions as needed; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Address employee payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
  • May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
  • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations. 
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to all employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance standards and knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Consistently represents the company in a professional manner.  
  • Maintains effective working relationship and cooperates with all personnel in the Company.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualification Requirements

  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, practical learning skills, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of human resource experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.

This job generally operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
