Job Description

A Mechanical Designer will work in a new product development environment and support the development (from concept to production) of modular electro-mechanical electrical enclosure system products. Position reports to the R&D Manager and may take direction from other engineers and project managers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Application, conception, creation, release and support of enclosure system products
  • Ensure consistency with company and industry standards for quality, safety and reliability while optimizing cost and manufacturability
  • Develop CAD models, drawings and specifications for mechanical applications
  • Enter product documentation and specifications in production MRP systems
  • Manage the release of product documentation through the Engineering Change process
  • Work closely as part of a cross functional team and will be mainly involved in design activities.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Formal mechanical design educational training, or equivalent experience
  • Mechanical CAD software (CREO, Pro/E) design experience
  • 3+ years of experience manipulating large assemblies (>200 components) effectively
  • Sheet metal modeling experience
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and documentation, and collaborating with the design team in a fluid design/test environment

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • A working knowledge of production part processes: sheet-metal manufacturing methods, busbar stamping and forming, injection moldings, and die castings
  • Knowledge of the development of power equipment for 240-690V AC systems
  • Rockwell Automation product and product integration knowledge
