The Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) team is responsible for the stability, reliability, release and deployment of TCGplayer.com technology. The team’s primary function is to increase the efficiency of the organization through well-designed automation and infrastructure.

We are in search of a seasoned Developer Experience OR Platform Engineering Manager with 5+ years experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes to lead our efforts providing a seamless and productive development environment for our engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing the developer workflow, tooling, and automation to enhance productivity and enable our developers to deliver high-quality software efficiently.

What you will accomplish: 

  • Platform Development: Lead the development and execution of the DevEx roadmap, working closely with software developers, quality engineers, security, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable infrastructure solutions. 

  • Ensure the DevEx team adheres to best practices, coding standards, quality standards, and architectural guidelines, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. 

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor top engineering talent, building an impactful team capable of delivering a world-class developer experience. 

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand developer challenges and proactively seek out opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity. 

  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by regularly soliciting developer feedback and implementing iterative improvements to the developer experience.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and training resources to help developers improve the benefits of the DevEx platform and tools.

What you will bring: 

  • 5+ years of experience working with AWS in a development or DevOps role

  • 2 or more years of experience leading geographically dispersed remote teams in various technology disciplines

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Experience with Agile methodology including using common tools such as Jira, roadmapping, managing sprints and backlogs, tracking resource usage

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)

  • Proven track record of improving the developer experience and productivity

  • Ability to drive change and innovation within a technical organization

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
