We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Datacenter Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of our data center, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting our mission-critical systems. This role involves a combination of hands-on technical work and strategic planning to ensure our data center operates efficiently and reliably. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Hardware Installation and Removal: 

  • Installing and removing servers, network devices, and other hardware components. 

  • Handling the physical racking, stacking, and cabling of equipment. 

Physical Inspections: 

  • Performing visual inspections of equipment for signs of damage, overheating, or other issues. 

  • Checking and ensuring all cables are securely connected. 

Cabling and Connectivity: 

  • Installing and organizing network and power cables. 

  • Ensuring proper labelling and documentation of cabling for easy identification. 

Hardware Replacement and Upgrades: 

  • Replacing faulty hardware components such as hard drives, memory modules, and power supplies. 

  • Assisting with hardware upgrades and migrations. 

Console Access and Troubleshooting: 

  • Providing console access to servers and network devices for remote administrators. 

  • Performing basic troubleshooting steps as directed by remote administrators. 

Network and Connectivity Testing: 

  • Conducting basic network tests to ensure connectivity. 

  • Using diagnostic tools to test and verify network performance. 

Liquid Cooling 

  • Connecting and using 1 and 2 phased liquid cooling technology. 

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with systems and leaks. 

  • Replacement and upgrades of liquid cooled systems. 

Security Compliance: 

  • Ensuring compliance with data center security policies. Managing access controls and escorting visitors as needed. 

Vendor Coordination: 

  • Coordinating with third-party vendors for hardware deliveries, installations, and repairs. 

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data center operations, system administration, and network management.

  • proficient in connecting and using 1 and 2 phased liquid cooling technology. 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with server and storage technologies (e.g., Dell, SMC, Weka). 

  • Experience with network infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista). 

  • Knowledge of data center management tools and monitoring systems. 

  • Familiarity with security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA). 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
