How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As the “face of Airgas”, the Microbulk Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting bulk liquid gases between pick up terminals and customers, both internal and external. This position safely loads, delivers, unloads and returns using a company provided truck. This position fills pressurized bulk liquid gases at the customer’s location while interacting with Airgas customers and Airgas associates.

As a Microbulk Driver at Airgas, you will be a part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility while offering our employees a work/life balance. In addition, Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation. This position does require overnight travel.

In particular, you will:

  • Fill the tank and load/unload supplies onto the service truck on a daily basis.

  • Conduct daily pre-/post-trip inspections and complete reports.

  • Deliver microbulk products to customers to ensure an adequate supply level.  

  • Perform any non route delivery necessary to provide customers with products.

  • Accurately prepare and maintain daily updated manifest in order to meet Department of Transportation requirements.

  • Complete paperwork promptly and accurately and return to appropriate personnel.

  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles.

  • Adhere to all Airgas and D.O.T. safety rules and regulations by proactively participating in identifying any safety and/or health hazards while in the workplace.  Report to management any hazards.

  • Maintain a safe driving record while operating company vehicles/equipment.

  • Provide customer orientation, instruction on the proper use, safety hazards and proper use of related equipment.

  • Work with customers on maintaining appropriate gas levels.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker, Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements.

  • Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.

  • Must be able to obtain DISA credentials and have a current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

  • Must have within the last five (5) years:  Two (2) years of of professional, Class A driving experience, with required endorsements.

  • Must have a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.

  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.

  • Must be able to regularly lift 25 to 70 pounds, and up to 300 pounds with the assistance of lifting equipment.

  • Must be able to overnight at approved hotel accommodations.

  • Must be at least 23 years or older.
