Job Summary

Oversee, advise, and direct data flow for Priority Health within Snowflake on AWS.  Include direction on landing raw data sources, and translating into data warehouse while establishing and enforcing standards and governance.

Essential Functions

  • Translates business analytics problems into data frameworks and blueprints that data engineers can follow and execute across multiple domains.

  • Analyzes structured and unstructured data to drive prototype ideas for new tools and products. Designs, prototypes, and implements on-prem and cloud-based data solutions.

  • Develops standards and guidelines around code development, test strategies and naming conventions across data assets. Assists in selecting data management tools and developing the standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for using those tools.

  • Develops and presents data strategies to IT and Business Executives.

  • Optimizes legacy data models and re-engineers legacy frameworks. Highly proficient in tuning databases and ETL code for optimal performance.

  • Helps to create and sustain a Data Engineering Community of Practice and mentors other team members on documentation and solution development aligned with overall data strategy. Guides data engineers as they build and test new systems per specifications.

  • Understands and abides by the project management and solution development methodologies. Maintains industry leading technical skills and expertise through education and training.

  • Highly organized with good time management skills, customer-service orientation, and strong interpersonal and presentations skills. Analytical thinker with creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • 4 years of related experience

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or equivalent

  • 7 years of related experience

  • AWS experience

  • Snowflake experience

  • SQL coding experience

  • dbt experience

  • Epic for payers experience

  • Health plan experience
