Reporting to the Director, Promotions, nofrills, the Manager, Promotions, nofrills is accountable for achieving promotional investment targets and guiding promotional activity nationally. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Director, Promotions, nofrills in tailoring activities to nofrills strategy with the goal of contributing to sales and market share growth.
Accountabilities:
Lead and facilitate flyer build for categories within center of store with three key factors in mind; enhance the customer experience, support long- and short-term business goals and assist category promotional strategies.
Ensure total flyer plans are meeting financial, tonnage and margin targets. Review with Director weekly and provide detailed recommendations to overcome any shortfalls.
Own and manage flyer changes and requests from category teams; ensure changes are compliant to banner guardrails and allocations timelines
Own weekly flyer creation by outlining pagination and flow as per strategy laid out by Director
Co-own planning timeline calendar and work closely with category teams to ensure all timelines are consistently met
Accountability for programs and flyers adhering to format playbooks and banner guardrails
Ensure flyer proofing aligns with category plans; adjust where needed based on strategy
Provide input for seasonal and event decks as required for the Discount Leadership Team
Assess promotional efficiency through postmortem review, business, and customer feedback
Supervise competitor and industry trends
Lead team performance by demonstrating leadership and mentor skills while working with direct report
Requirements
Post-secondary education – Business, Finance, Economics is an asset
Grocery retail experience is an asset
Ability to work in a highly organized manner where attention to detail and accuracy are critical
Previous experience in retail operations and/or merchandising planning preferred.
Ability to contribute to promotional programs in line with nofrills strategies
Intermediate computer skills required (Microsoft suite, specifically Excel).
Experience with Loblaw systems preferred (JDA, JA, ABI).
Excelled interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
Ability to work effectively autonomously and contribute effectively as part of a team.
