Position Responsibilities: 

Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership of Product Security Engineering for the division.

  • Represent and promote the vision of engineering security into our products.

Workforce Engagement

  • Grow and develop the workforce through training and engagement.

  • Collaborate with management on staffing plans.

Project Management

  • Facilitate program and project proposals, start-right kick-offs, execution, and sustainment.

  • Ensure Product Security Engineering requirements are understood, and implementations are evaluated to satisfy those requirements on Programs.

  • Chair Product Security Engineering Review Board (PSERB) for the division.

  • Optimize programs and projects through the use of lean initiatives.

  • Responsible for proposal estimates and ensuring review and approval by Division Management.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project execution, answer questions to programs and provide customer satisfaction.

Engineering Excellence

  • Foster continuous improvement to our products and processes by leveraging your knowledge of engineering principles and industry best practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.

  • Lead process changes.

  • Review engineering solutions

Travel to other engineering sites may be required within the U.S. (estimated to be ~10% travel time).

Contingent upon obtaining your DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level III or higher (such as CISSP, CASP, CE, CISA, GCED, or GCIH) within 6 months of start date.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):  (see required education and experience for this level below)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 15+ years of experience as an engineering individual contributor.

  • 5+ years of experience as an engineering team lead and/or engineering manager.

  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering projects.

  • Ability to obtain a Security+, a CISSP certification or equivalent Cyber Security certification within 6 months of employment in this role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Experience as a Chief Engineer.

  • A Master of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications.

  • Experience in systems engineering, mission computing, product security engineering, and/or software engineering for avionics.

  • Ability to engage program leadership on challenges and risks while ensuring the Product Security team are meeting customer expectations.

  • Ability to build relationships to gain support and commitment from others, promote ideas with enthusiasm, conviction, and assertiveness.

  • Experience as an engineering Program Manager.

  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.

  • CISSP Certification.

  • Active DoD clearance.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Level 6

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for lead level: $207,400 - $280,600
