Wayfair continues to build industry-shaping infrastructure and capabilities through the Global Returns & Incidents Team to improve our monetization and reduce incident exposure. As part of this journey, we are seeking bright, curious, and high-energy individual contributors to identify and execute high-value initiatives across our global network. 

The Global Returns & Incidents Team plays a vital role in the supply chain and fulfilling our commitment to customers and suppliers. We design processes and software to accurately assess any returned items’ condition as well as to conduct (re-) packaging and repair efforts if applicable. We continuously identify opportunities through dedicated performance management and business analytics

This role is crucial in managing varying priorities, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring everyone has clear direction to work efficiently and effectively. The candidate should be curious, driven, impact-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. The candidate should have strong networking skills, a good understanding of operational processes, and be able to provide structure and data-based recommendations within complex domains. This candidate should be able to independently analyze, give insights, and comfortably give recommendations – leading the stakeholder relationships and owning the policy framework. Successful individuals in this role excel at both qualitative and quantitative analysis while also being adept at communicating their strategic and actionable business proposals upwards and outwards..

What You’ll Do:

  • Generate actionable insights for policy and operational improvements 
  • Create automated reporting and dashboards to support process owners in driving desirable outcomes
  • Translate KPI movements into recommendations for policy iteration, implementation, and process automation
  • Take ownership of building a strategic roadmap for your team based on the overall agenda to improve monetization outcomes and reduce incidents
  • Manage multiple peer and upward technical and operational stakeholders to get their buy-in to implement on your policy recommendations
  • Operate as a cross functional think tank that understands customer needs and Wayfair & supplier processes, then define, design, deliver transformational resolution journeys
  • Partner with product teams to design and implement agile development roadmap to improve our customer and agent facing technology tools
  • Be an effective contributor in a team that manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow through; problem solve situations requiring use of data collection and analysis
  • Utilization of in-house data-analytics tools to provide recommendations for improved net recovery and monetization for returns processes and assessments
  • Providing insights into global liquidations recovery opportunities
  • Own, sharpen and improve return grading policies to more accurately assess package and product conditions 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field - degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Economics or other concentrations with heavy quantitative focus strongly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, SQL/GBQ, and data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio/Looker/Tableau/PowerBI
  • Critical and quantitative thinking while also showcasing the acumen to selectively put qualitative insights over quantitative data
  • Team-first attitude with enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration
  • Passion for process optimization and transformation - experience with complex operational, process, and performance improvement projects
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset; you must be adaptable and comfortable with change

All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday - Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
