The Job 

Consistency of data submission across each platform is essential to properly understand business impacts and operational performanceTo enable standardized  data collection to power all our first-party data-driven use cases, we are the team building out libraries and tooling that will unify the modeling, collection, formatting and submission of events to our data pipeline.   
 

You will join the cross organization effort for data consistency by architecting SDKs that unify multiple forms of data submission across all platforms available for our streaming productsYou will enable engineering teams, operations analysts, and site reliability engineers to make sense of streams of data for millions of concurrent users so we can understand what is going wrong and mitigate those problems before they become widespread outages. You will help us build out the libraries and services that make it easy for engineers to collect data in a consistent way, and work with a wide group of stakeholders.   

 

The Daily 

  • Develop cross platform libraries to enable data collection and submission to our data platform 

  • Design and deliver components of a complex architecture or distributed system 

  • Be a self-starter that can independently solve engineering problems 

  • Maintain high quality coding standards for yourself and your team 

  • Proactively seek self-improvement and are adaptable to suggestions and feedback  

  • Hold yourself and your team to high standards while maintaining friendly, respectful relationships 

  • Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write 

The Essentials

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience 

  • 4-5+ years professional software engineering experience  

  • Some experience working with either Kotlin or Swift for mobile app development 

  • Have a solid understanding of common software data structures and algorithms 

  • Be a quick learner that can leverage surrounding resources to solve their problems 

  • Passionate about problem solving through software with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write 

  • Seeks self-improvement and is adaptable to suggestions and feedback 

  

The Nice to Haves 

  • Experience using languages such as Java, C#, C++, Javascript, Typescript, Brightscript 

  • Experience with schema design and data modeling 

  • Experience working with low-latency, services operating in a 24x7 environment at scale 

  • Full-stack industry experience, or hands-on familiarity with both client and server technology 

  • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, Google app engine, Azure, Kubernetes) 

  • Experience working on video streaming products a plus
