Job Description

WAFER MANUFACTURING ENGINEER FOR WAFER SERVICE ACTIVITY

Albany, NY

*Not remote role, this role requires time at the on-site lab/cleanroom.

Wafer Manufacturing Engineer for Wafer service activity is required to have two key parts as wafer service and new structure development.

For wafer service, based on the request of the requester, prepare/ship a sample using suitable process flow with minor changes as needed.  For new structure development, investigate the structure that will be needed in the future, establish a development plan, and develop new process flow for a new structure that meets the specifications.

In response to various requests, the ability to produce high-quality samples in a timely manner is required through extensive knowledge of each unit/module process and communication not only with internal parties but also with external parties.

Responsibilities:

(For wafer service related)

Define a process flow with requestors. Develop new structures if required that is including

  • Discuss new structures and specs with requesters, and each BU engineers
  • Set routes and measurement recipes as needed

Cost calculation Lot management to meet required spec and schedule Prepare for shipping sample wafers to requestors Store relevant data/information on the sample preparation for tracking Familiar with the management web system, improve the system as well Analyze wafer service tracking information as needed

(New structure development related)

Investigate what structures should be prepared based on information inside/outside TTCA Plan a strategy and a schedule to establish new structure for TEL internal organizers (BU team development. Development new structures for future needs in collaboration with other TEL team as needed. Lot management to meet required spec and schedule including process split, metrology setup and physical analysis. Reporting the results in timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. work authorization is required.
  • Individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • BS in Science or Engineering with 5 years relevant semiconductor experience, MS preferred.
  • Semiconductor processing experience at unit process (such as lithography, etch) and/or integrated module level.
  • Lot management skills using SiView MM/SM are required. Trainings will be provided if needed.
  • Measurement and analysis tool operation skills are preferred including inline CDSEM and cross-sectional SEM etc. Trainings will be provided if needed.
  • This individual must be able to travel up to 5%.
  • Work self-management skill is required to work independently and work as a part of a team.
  • Experience with project management for planning and scheduling is preferred.
  • Individual must have the right attitude to work in multi-cultural teams.
  • Experience with project management including project plans and resource scheduling
  • Knowledge of experiment design (DOE) and SPC techniques for tool and process optimization is required.
  • Strong data analysis skills are needed. Experience with JMP or other statistical software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills are a must.
  • Basic knowledge and skill for personal computer including peripheral equipment and software are required (MS Windows, MS Office, network, etc.).

Salary Ranges

$99,794.05 - $129,519.98

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.  In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.  The talent advisor can share more details about total compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
