Technicien de simulateur vol (Temp – Partiel)
Au sein du groupe des services techniques de la division de la formation et des services civils de CAE, le titulaire doit réaliser toutes les tâches de maintenance préventive et corrective sur les simulateurs de vol et dispositifs connexes du centre de formation de CAE de Montréal. Le candidat travaillera sur des quarts de huit (8) heures consécutives – 24 à 32 heures par semaine – y compris des quarts de jour, de soir, de nuit et de fin de semaine.
Le titulaire appuiera les rôles et les responsabilités suivantes:
Soutien technique opérationnel: (40 %)
Assistance téléphonique en temps réel pour résoudre les problèmes techniques sur les simulateurs de vol du centre de formation
Préparation rigoureuse du simulateur pour les sessions de formation des clients et exécution des tests pré-vol
Exécution des tâches récurrentes de maintenance préventive planifiée, des tests de validation de l’aéronef (QTG) et création/restauration des sauvegardes des disques système/ordinateur
Soutien technique – Résolution de problèmes et intégration: (40 %)
Diagnostiquer et résoudre rapidement des défaillances complexes des simulateurs
Identifier et remplacer les composants défectueux des simulateurs de vol
Valider diverses corrections de pannes directement sur le simulateur de vol
Maintenir et documenter le contrôle de configuration tant au niveau logiciel que matériel
Travailler dans un environnement basé sur C/Unix et Windows pour analyser de nombreuses lignes/modules de code afin d’identifier la cause première des problèmes et proposer des pistes solides et des hypothèses de solution (dépannage)
Lire et interpréter des schémas électriques et électromécaniques ainsi que des documents de conception
Définir les problèmes, recueillir des données, établir des faits et tirer des conclusions valides
Utiliser son expérience des aéronefs/systèmes pour appliquer des correctifs pratiques sur un simulateur de vol complet (Full Flight Simulator)
Tâches administratives, documentation et projets : (20 %)
Consigner régulièrement, de manière objective et formelle, tout le travail effectué dans un système informatisé de gestion de la maintenance
Mettre à jour, au besoin, la documentation technique et les procédures
Participer activement aux formations techniques et aux opportunités d’apprentissage en cours d’emploi
Diriger et exécuter divers projets visant à améliorer et assurer le bon fonctionnement du centre de formation
Exigences
DEC en électronique, informatique, maintenance aéronautique ou équivalent
Expérience pertinente en modification et manipulation de logiciels et de composants électroniques
Connaissance de Windows, Unix, C, C++ et des langages de script
Familiarisation avec les principes et théories de base de l’électronique ainsi qu’avec les équipements de test électroniques
La connaissance des logiciels et applications de CAE est un atout (CAELIB, STARTEAM, systèmes visuels et architecture SIM XXI)
Compréhension de l’interaction entre le matériel technique et les logiciels dans le contexte de la simulation aéronautique, un atout
Connaissances en aéronautique, incluant l’avionique, la dynamique de vol, les systèmes aéronautiques et les systèmes simulés, un atout
Excellentes compétences en communication, incluant une maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit
Flight Simulator Technician (Part – Time)
As part of the Technical Services department within CAE’s Civil Training and Services division, perform all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on several CAE and non-CAE flight simulators and associated devices at the CAE Montreal Training Center. The candidate will work on shifts of 8 (eight) hours - 24 to 32 hours weekly – on various differing shifts including day, evening, night and weekend shifts.
The incumbent will support the following roles and responsibilities:
Technical operational support: (40%)
Real-time phone support to address technical issues on the training center flight simulators
Diligent preparation of the simulator for customer training and running pre-flight tests
Performing recurring scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, aeroplane validation tests (QTG) and creating/restoring system/computer disk backups
Technical investigative and integration support: (40%)
Diagnosis and resolving complex simulator deficiencies in a timely manner
Identifying and replacing defective flight simulator components
Validating various snag fixes directly on the flight simulator device
Maintaining and documenting configuration control in both software and hardware
Working in a C/Unix, Windows-based environment to step through numerous lines/modules of codes in order to pinpoint root-cause of problems and offer strong leads and hypothesis to solution (troubleshooting)
Read and interpret electrical and electro-mechanical drawings and design documents
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Use aircraft/systems experience to apply hands-on fixes to a Full Flight Simulator
Administrative duties, documentation and projects: (20%)
Logging all work on a regular, objective and formal basis in a Computerized Maintenance Management System
When required, update technical documentation and procedures
Participate and actively learn in technical training courses and on-the-job learning opportunities
Lead and execute various projects to improve and ensure smooth operation of the training center
Requirements
DEC in Electronic, Computer Science, Aircraft Maintenance. or equivalent
Related experience in software and electronic modification and manipulation
Knowledge of Windows, Unix, C, C++ and scripting languages
Familiarization with basic electronic theory and principles as well as electronic testing equipment
Knowledge of CAE software and applications an asset (CAELIB, STARTEAM, visual systems and SIM XXI architecture)
Understanding the relationship between technical hardware and software interaction as it relates to aviation simulation an asset
Aeronautical knowledge, including knowledge of avionics, flight dynamics, aircraft systems and simulated systems an asset
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written proficiency in French and English required
