Position Description:

Builds the web user experience and the underlying platforms needed to support digital presence. Develops and deploys web features. Leverages DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment CI/CD) practices and tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers. Minimizes risk using practices (A/B testing, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles). Enhances the user experience using JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, HTML, and Browser Developer tools. Leverages Async code (Promises, Callbacks, and Event Loops) to develop web features. Implements new features, enhances existing functionality, and resolves production issues or bugs. Designs and develops intuitive, responsive User Interfaces (UIs). Builds and maintains Application Programming Interface (APIs) and server-side logic to support various features. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and Back End services using Node.js and Express.js.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end development, maintenance, and deployment of the web applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Confers with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on projects, and proposes modifications and improvements based on user needs.
  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Monitors functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
  • Obtains and evaluates information on reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration.
  • Design and implement Front-End user interfaces.
  • Translate UX/UI designs and wireframes into high-quality, responsive, and interactive UI features.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
  • Owns the full software development lifecycle from planning and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards.
  • Troubleshoots, debugs, and resolves production issues in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improved code quality and application performance through refactoring and optimization.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and design teams to create intuitive and user-friendly interface.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Systems Engineering and Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and testing full-stack web applications, using Angular, Node.js, or Java.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Systems Engineering and Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and testing full-stack web applications, using Angular, Node.js, or Java.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing scalable, responsive web interfaces, using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks (React or Angular); building dynamic, component-driven UIs that ensure cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and performance optimization; and following a test-driven development approach to create unit and integration tests, ensuring code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • DE collaborating across full-stack teams by integrating front-end applications with the back-end systems, using Node.js and Express.js; enabling seamless data exchange between UIs and server side services, ensuring reliability and performance of modern web applications, using RESTful APIs (including testing and validating endpoints with Postman).
  • DE producing wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications for new features and enhancements (Figma); translating designs into functional front-end components, using HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frameworks; and delivering accessible, visually appealing, and user-centric designs to align with business requirements.
  • DE delivering new features, addressing production issues, and participating in sprint ceremonies, planning, reviews, and retrospectives in an Agile environment; handling source code (Git) using structured branching strategies, pull requests, and peer reviews; automating, building, testing, and deploying processes to ensure rapid and reliable releases, using CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins; and performing code analysis and maintaining high code quality across projects.
