Job Overview: The Director, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality leads and oversees all aspects of our engineering operations, with a strong focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing safe operation environments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role will be crucial in maintaining the highest quality standards, cost efficiency, and ensuring all engineering projects align with the company's strategic objectives.

Director of Engineering Duties:

  • Lead and manage engineering projects from conception through execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across all Engineering activities, focusing on productivity enhancements and waste reduction.
  • Oversee the design and optimization of manufacturing engineering processes to meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the areas of manufacturing processes, equipment design, and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to implement Engineering best practices.
  • Develop and manage Engineering budgets, ensuring optimal use of resources and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Ensure all Engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Utilize CAD and CAE software to model, simulate, and optimize designs, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead and mentor the Engineering and Quality teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies for process reliability and quality assurance, minimizing downtime and product defects.
  • Provide guidance and support for prototyping and feasibility studies of new product lines or equipment modifications.

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in managing automated processes and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex Engineering projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate Engineering Solutions utilizing Innovation and Technology while partnering with the functional areas of the Business Unit to deliver projects aligned with ROI (Return On Investment) expectations.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD and CAE software for design and simulation.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on cost optimization and process efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.

The base salary range for this role is $153,300 to $229,700.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
