This role will be an integral part of the Guidewire program supporting ClaimCenter. The candidate should have prior experience in the property & casualty industry supporting at least one of the business areas inherent to an insurance company (preferably Claims). The candidate will need to be skilled in interacting with the development team, product owner, and all levels of claims users.

Immediate responsibilities include:

Support the analysis, development, and testing of Guidewire's ClaimCenter application for our Workers’ Compensation line of business. Support the ClaimCenter migration to the cloud. Prepare for post-production support for all lines of business in ClaimCenter

As part of our ClaimCenter project, this role will work with our subject matter experts and product owner to interpret and solidify business requirements. This position will support the configuration and/or integration efforts and will work with a team comprised of other business analysts, developers, and quality assurance resources to facilitate the development and testing of business requirements within the framework of a Guidewire product. This position will operate in an agile environment where user stories will iterate through their life cycle of requirements, development, testing, and demo/signoff within the development phase. In preparation for the stabilization phase, this resource will assist with user acceptance test scripting. Once in stabilization, this resource will assist with executing test scripts and work with a UAT lead to document results and remediate issues. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in an agile environment utilizing scrum methodology for a Guidewire implementation.

In addition, this position will assist with the support of our current production environment, as needed.

Longer term, this role may expand as needed to support further business-sponsored projects targeted at improving efficiencies/workflow or adhering to compliance regulations for the various lines of business we write. These projects may involve maintenance/enhancements of current applications or the implementation of modern technology and/or new vendor relationships. In addition, this role will assume post-production responsibilities for our ClaimCenter implementation.

Essential Functions:

In support of third-party vendor initiatives, partner with vendor resources and internal IT leads in support of the development, testing and rollout of new programs or changes to existing programs. Analyze and document current "as is" business and technology processes as a precursor to the implementation of new systems & processes or enhancements to existing systems & processes. Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with business SME’s and product owners in support of new systems and enhancements to existing systems. Develop an understanding of "out of the box" functionality in a vendor application and document where our needs require a deviation to “out of the box.” Create/review requirement documents and acceptance criteria for use by developer and QA resources. In support of integration efforts, work with technical leads and subject matter experts of internal systems that would interact with our claims system when receiving or sending data. Review test strategy and test scenarios for QA resources and provide testing support. Adhere to project procedures (template usage, requirements change management, defect management, etc.) as defined by project management governance standards. As a UAT team member (during the user acceptance testing phase of projects), create and execute UAT scripts, document results, assist with defect remediation. Participate in and support end user training as required for product and process rollouts. For projects utilizing agile/scrum methodology: Participate in the scrum practices of story sizing, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint end demos, and team retrospectives. Work collaboratively with the scrum team to deliver sprint backlog as committed to by the team. Assist with sprint end demos of completed stories at the conclusion of each sprint which would are presented to project stakeholders and interested parties. Requested travel is infrequent but visits to Home Office or other office locations for meetings, seminars, or training may be necessary. We currently employ a hybrid work environment where staff are required to physically work in their assigned office three days per week.

Experience with the software development lifecycle and projects that are managed in both waterfall and agile environments, preferably, Guidewire agile projects.

Prior completion of Guidewire Training Modules and/or certifications is highly preferred. Will consider candidates who commit to becoming ACE certified analysts by completing the Guidewire BA certifications of Associate (InsuranceSuite Analyst certification) within the first six months and the Professional (ClaimCenter specific) certification within the next 12 months.

Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word) as well as agile tools (Rally, ADO, etc.).

3+ years Commercial Property & Casualty insurance products experience. Bachelor’s Degree (relevant to insurance, IT or MIS) or comparable work experience.
