Key Position Details:

.5 FTE (40 hours every two weeks)

8-hour, day / evening shifts

Every other weekend rotation

Schedule:

Every Monday: 845a - 515p

Every other Thursday: 845a - 515p

Every other Saturday & Sunday: 615a - 245p

Job Description:

Responsibilities including but not limited to: 1:1 meal assist with patients, calorie count charting, Tube Feed calculations, charting in the electronic medical records, checking tray line, working closely with management to help problem solve issues as they arise, additional project work that may include advanced computer skills, and collaborating with nursing, dietitians, and/or provider on the care of the patient.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Takes meal orders for patients throughout the hospital working directly with patient, staff, or family.
  • Processes orders following specific diet guidelines and restrictions, as well as tray guidelines based on each unit’s specifications.
  • Consistently sees all assigned patients on each unit and ensure great customer service.
  • Checks tray line for order accuracy.
  • Works with management team to find solutions to problems encountered.
  • Calculates and delivers daily tube feeding products to hospital units.
  • Calculates and documents daily calorie counts.
  • Works with various computer systems including Health Touch, Microsoft Word, Epic.
  • Uses proper food handling practices and maintain HIPPA regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Vocational degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or in process of completing a 4-year Nutrition and Dietetics degree desired
  • Background and experience in nutrition education
