Staff Tech Business Ops Specialist

GEICO is seeking a  Staff Technology Business Ops Specialist with a blend of technical and business operations experience to help drive our insurance business transformation as we move from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission. In this role, you will drive Tech Business Operations initiatives in a designated area.  You will build and execute solutions that solve complex problems in a tech environment, with a focus on optimizing business performance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Depending on your skills, experience, and interest you will represent tech business operations in driving business performance within Learning and Development for tech associates or execution of our Technology Development Program for entry level engineers. 
  • Within your primary domain you will liaise on behalf of tech across many layers of stakeholders, including our Corporate Learning and Development Team, our Technology Development Program Team, the People Org, all levels of leadership including executive, and other team members and tech associates to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Define, create, and support reusable and scalable business processes. 
  • Utilize analytical skills (process mapping, data analytics, logical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving) and project management skills (planning, scoping, documentation, road mapping, task management) to drive quality delivery. 
  • Complete deep dive analyses to inform business decisions. 
  • Ensure tracking of key metrics. 
  • Lead solution design sessions to elevate operational efficiencies that support strategic objectives across the organization. 
  • Mentor and train other team members and internal customers.  Share best practices across teams in your designated domain. 

Qualifications:

  • Proven success driving business operations solutions in an enterprise organization, preferably in a technical environment
  • Proven ability to identify gaps, create solution-based proposals, and execute delivery for new or updated processes of a complex nature
  • Significant understanding of best practices and industry standards in the People domain of  Business Operations, specifically Learning and Development or entry level development programs. 
  • Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and project/program management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross functional business operations programs and projects  
  • Proven experience developing impactful relationships at all levels to influence and drive change 
  • Strong analytical skills, strong critical thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to succeed in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.  Proven ability to pivot quickly and support team members as needed based on shifting priorities. 
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data to identify/solve problems, find trends, and make decisions. 

Experience:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Business Operations in an Enterprise level setting, preferably in a tech environment OR 8+years of professional experience in an equivalent tech solutions delivery role
  • 6+ years’ experience in project or program management, preferably in a tech environment
  • 6+ years’ experience in leveraging analytical skills to optimize business performance, preferably in a tech environment. 
  • 4+ years’ experience in the People domain of Business Operations, specifically Learning and Development or entry level development programs. 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent education or work experience.


 

Annual Salary

$90,000.00 - $230,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
