I. Job Description The SAM License Desk is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's software licenses, ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements, and providing support and guidance on software licensing issues. II. Roles and Responsibilities a. Software License Management ? Maintain a centralized inventory of all software licenses. ? Track license usage to ensure compliance with agreements. ? Manage the lifecycle of software licenses, including procurement, deployment, and retirement. b. Contract and Compliance Management ? Keep a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of all software contracts, including terms, conditions, and expiration dates. ? Ensure that the organization adheres to the terms and conditions of software contracts. ? Work with various Category Managers to ensure alignment and compliance with software contracts. ? Review software contracts to ensure they meet the organization’s requirements and compliance standards. c. Support and Communication ? Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding software licensing issues. ? Respond to inquiries about software licenses and usage policies. ? Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to manage software needs. d. Report and Documentation ? Generate regular reports on software usage, compliance status, and costs. ? Maintain comprehensive documentation of all software licenses, agreements, and policies. ? Provide updates to management on the status of software licenses and compliance. III. Required Skills: ? Proven experience in software asset management, license management, or a related field (typically 3-5 years). ? Experience with SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Snow License Manager, Flexera) and software licensing models. ? Strong understanding of software licensing agreements, compliance, and audit processes IV. Qualifications: ? Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field. ? Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Software Asset Manager - CSAM) are a plus. ? Completion of SAM-specific training courses or certifications is preferred. ? Training in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or similar frameworks is advantageous. ? Familiarity with financial and accounting principles related to software asset management. Minimum 2 year(s) of experience is required
