Typical Accountabilities
- Provide technical leadership to either a regional group supporting technical delivery or as an expert for a portfolio of products and strategies.
- Lead the championing of new strategies and development of the regional product pipeline.
- Oversee or provide expert technical support to a regional team and potentially a global team.
- Lead the governance process by ensuring processes follow both internal and external regulations.
- Lead or oversee team initiatives ensuring that internal and external resources are balanced within the overall business portfolio.
- Develop and build or act a specialist expert in implementing new strategies and communicating new visions.
- Ensure that all work is carried out with regards to AstraZeneca standards and external regulations.
- Represent AstraZeneca and its Business Strategy and Portfolio function at external events.
- Network with colleagues and experts to agree portfolio priorities, providing strategy advice based on analysis and portfolio consultancy in own area of expertise and serving as a resource for others by sharing experience within and beyond project team and own function.
- Ensure efficient and effective leadership and management of project information, quality of data and projection, and integrity of information supplied.
- Keep up to date on recent developments and emerging trends and helps others do so.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential: Bachelor of Science in an appropriate discipline; Extensive experience in Business Strategy and Portfolio within a pharmaceutical or clinical background; Thorough knowledge of Business Strategy and Portfolio processes and local regulations; Influencing and negotiating skills.
Desirable: Advanced degree in scientific discipline; Expert reputation within the business and industry; Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory expectations.
