About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Accounts Executive (1 year contract) to join our Finance team in the technology sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end closing, and compliance with local statutory requirements. This role requires strong hands-on experience in partial sets in accounting focusing on general ledger management, account reconciliations, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a growing business.

This is a one-year contract position. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping and general ledger activities.
  • Monitor bank balances and coordinate funding requests to support business operations.
  • Prepare and post accounting entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments where required.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Review Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper expense classification.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with applicable Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and company policies.
  • Support external audit processes by liaising with auditors, responding to queries, and preparing relevant supporting documents during audit fieldwork.
  • Work closely with senior finance manager and tax agents on corporate tax matters and withholding tax requirements.
  • Support corporate secretarial matters by preparing and coordinating documents through DocuSign.
  • Liaise with bankers to ensure bank account information and authorised signatories remain updated.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the US Finance team, with occasional night meetings required to support cross-time-zone communication.
  • Perform other ad hoc accounting-related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with hands-on experience in partial sets in accounting focusing on general ledger functions.
  • Strong understanding of basic FRS requirements, corporate taxation, and local statutory compliance.
  • Good knowledge of month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite or ZIP is advantageous.
  • Prior experience working with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, and banking partners is preferred.
  • Experience in a technology or fast-growing business environment will be an advantage.
