Where Ambition Meets Innovation
Build a career that matches all your initiative with an impressive dose of innovation. From cutting-edge resources and a collaborative environment to the freedom to make an impact and more, you’ll find the ingredients you need at LPL Financial to shape your success while helping clients pursue their financial goals.
The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in delivering a large-scale, enterprise-wide technology platform migration initiative. This role is responsible for driving execution across multiple domains, ensuring delivery against contractual commitments, and navigating complex capacity, dependency, and prioritization challenges.
This position sits within the Technology organization and partners closely with domain teams, product, architecture, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure successful planning, execution, and rollout.
Responsibilities:
Delivery Leadership & Integrated Planning
Own end-to-end delivery management for workstreams across discovery, execution, and deployment phases of a multi-year technology migration program.
Develop and maintain an integrated plan across domains and vendors, including sequencing, milestones, dependency tracking, and critical path management.
Drive alignment across stakeholders on scope, iteration placement, and domain engagement points; ensure timelines and deliverables are actionable and measurable.
Cross-Domain Dependency, RAID, and Escalation Management
Lead RAID management and ensure proactive mitigation and escalation paths for delivery-critical constraints.
Facilitate resolution of cross-team blockers and manage escalation through governance forums and leadership alignment paths.
Domain Engagement & Discovery Execution
Drive domain engagement execution during discovery, including expectations for recurring participation and timely review/approvals.
Ensure SMEs and stakeholders support joint discussions, validation, confirmations, and sign-offs within expected timeframes and that deliverables are reviewed on schedule.
Coordinate with vendor teams to ensure discovery outputs are accurate, validated, and ready for sign-off.
Governance, Reporting, and Executive Communications
Provide clear, concise status reporting on progress, RAID, scope impacts, and capacity/resource risks — supporting steering committee and leadership updates.
Track program health and ensure transparent communication of key milestones, including application analysis progress and scope confirmation.
Maintain delivery compliance with internal governance and intake/change processes.
Vendor & Financial Coordination
Partner with vendor teams to manage timelines, deliverables, and performance against discovery/execution expectations.
Support program financial tracking inputs (e.g., actuals/forecast alignment) in partnership with Finance stakeholders.
About the Program
This program involves migrating data, code, APIs, and integrations from a legacy platform to a modern enterprise technology stack.
Discovery spans a large application landscape with significant cross-domain dependencies.
The initiative requires strong program management discipline to navigate capacity constraints, evolving scope, and complex stakeholder alignment.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
Discovery execution is running to plan, with domain participation structured and predictable — engagement hours, reviews, and sign-offs occurring within defined SLAs.
Integrated program plan is baselined with clear dependencies, owners, and escalation paths; RAID is actively managed and communicated.
Leadership has transparent visibility into capacity gaps and decisions required to stay on-track, with crisp options and recommended actions.
We’re looking for strong collaborators who deliver exceptional client experiences and thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. Our ideal candidates pursue greatness, act with integrity, and are driven to help our clients succeed. We value those who embrace creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives in a matrixed enterprise environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead integrated planning, dependency management, and RAID governance across multiple teams.
Proven experience driving stakeholder alignment and managing delivery in constrained-capacity environments.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including leadership-ready status reporting and facilitation of governance forums.
Experience with delivery tools such as Jira / Confluence and Microsoft Office suite (or equivalent).
Preferences
Experience with platform modernization, data migration, or large-scale transformation programs.
Financial services / wealth management technology experience.
Experience managing vendor-led delivery (discovery and/or execution).
