Position Description:

Develops high-quality, client-facing security Web applications. Analyzes, researches code, recommends, and documents technical design strategies. Develops, tests, and works with environment groups to integrate and support changes from development to test to production environments. Performs testing as part of software development and develops automation of processes. Improves test coverage, release velocity, and production health. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and supporting Spring-based projects, using Java and Spring frameworks.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and supporting Spring-based projects, using Java and Spring frameworks.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing, testing, maintaining and enhancing scalable software solutions, using programming languages (Java and Python) with considerations for high availability and business continuity; fixing code vulnerabilities and monitoring logs, using Kibana, Grafana and Splunk; and debugging, finding anomalies, and providing solutions.
  • DE developing, testing, and maintaining applications within a contact center platform (Genesys or Amazon Connect), using Java, JavaScript, Spring Frameworks, Maven, and Git.
  • DE maintaining projects within an Agile framework, using Scrum and Kanban; developing software using test driven development; and designing and implementing automated test frameworks and tools, and performing unit and integration testing, using Cucumber and Eclipse.
  • DE deploying applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and building, designing, and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using Jenkins, Udeploy, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and Artifactory.
