Finance & Treasury Coordinator

Department: Controllership Strategy

Location: São Paulo

Reports to: Country Controller

Purpose of the Role

The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing complex accounting processes, managing treasury operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, and supporting financial planning and analysis activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial statements, safeguarding company assets, optimizing cash management, and driving process improvements within the Controllership function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, CPC, and BMS accounting policies in all reporting processes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and provide variance explanations to management.
  • Support statutory and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, including ECD and ECF.
  • Collaborate with the Tax team to ensure accurate accounting statements.
  • Manage accounting for fixed assets, including creation in subledger, depreciation calculations, and reconciliation of CIP (Construction in Progress) accounts.
  • Oversee cost accounting activities and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX controls and internal audit standards.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in Controllership processes.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement projects within finance operations.
  • Collaborate with global teams to implement standardized processes and tools.
  • Manage user access in banking platforms in compliance with SOX and internal policies.
  • Oversee daily cash management activities and ensure timely execution of payments.
  • Prepare and review treasury reports to support decision-making and audit requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Active CPA (CRC) license desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, CPC and internal control frameworks (SOX).
  • Knowledge of treasury operations and banking platforms is desirable.
  • Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills; knowledge of reporting and BI tools is a plus (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
