The Enrollment Specialist/Recruiter must be proficient with processes related to Admissions, Financial Aid, Recruiting, Assessment, first semester advising, and work effectively with Student Affairs to assist students. Provides support for students as they navigate the college system after applying to the College through a student’s first several weeks of their first semester. Emphasis will be placed on guiding new applicants through their enrollment steps from the point of being admitted to the College, to course registration for their first semester, and through the first weeks of class to increase their level of success in the first semester. Assists students in identifying challenges, defining goals, and accessing campus and community resources that will foster student persistence. An ES is proficient with processes related to Assessment, First Semester Advising, Registration, and Financial Aid Support/Business Support.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct targeted outreach to newly admitted students to coach them through their next steps and help prepare them through the first weeks of classes
- Manage caseload in a manner that promotes enrollment and student success through proactive interactions and interventions
- Maintain and monitor case notes in electronic student record systems
- Assessment related responsibilities: Answer questions and assist students with processes related to assessment/placement questions and reviewing/applying assessment waivers
- First Semester Advising: Advising students, maintain current knowledge on degree programs, prerequisites, and other advising or course information necessary to provide accurate course scheduling
- Registration related responsibilities: Counsel and assist students with online registration process, answer questions and assist students with Degree Tracker
- Manage, effectively track, engage, and recruit prospective students through the use of a client relationship management (CRM) tool. Use the CRM to assess the effectiveness of various outreach efforts and adjust based on conversion and enrollment data
- Assist and recruit prospective students in applying to Ivy Tech and respond to inquiries.
- Contact, collect and process information from potential students.
- Answer questions and assist with inquiries and completion of items related to the application for financial aid (FAFSA), verification, loan program eligibility and requirements.
- Answer questions and assist students with processes related to assessment.
- Participate in recruiting efforts on and off campus including but not limited to: college fairs, high school visits, information events, and community activities within our campus service area. Such events take place both during regular business hours and occasionally after hours (evenings and weekends).
- Recruit to increase the number of inquiries and applicants to the College along with the conversion of those inquiries and applicants to help move students through the enrollment process.
- Work collaboratively with college connections coaches Assist with the development of collaborative relationships with local K-12 schools, community agencies, local employers and organizations as they relate to the implementation of the campus recruitment plan.
- Work closely with internal Ivy Tech personnel to coordinate overall recruitment opportunities effectively.
- Communicate in a timely and professional manner with all internal and external points of contact.
- Escalate complex issues and questions to appropriate student affairs department and make appropriate referral to that department or individual.
- Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Salary Range: $43,000-$45,000
Qualifications:
- Associate degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience.
- Prefer at least two years of direct experience in one or more of the following: recruiting, financial aid, admissions, or higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects.
- Must possess excellent “people” skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including college and school personnel, teachers and prospective students, as well as employers and working adults.
- Previous computer and database experience required.
- Must possess a willingness and an ability to travel and work a flexible schedule that will occasionally include evening and weekend events.
