For new created Development center of VALEO Power division in Prague, we are searching for Standard Owner/EDC Mechanical to support the development of new generation of Electrical compressors.
YOUR CHALLENGES:
Capitalization & standardization
Create & maintain technical standards to capitalize the know-how covering their scope of ownership.
Capitalize the Lessons Learned (LLCs) in their standards to ensure a fast implementation in new projects.
Ensures that their standards are “easy to use” worldwide (easy to check, to understand, to access, to learn).
Participate in the Standardization Committees.
Technical training
Ensures that their standards are covered by a training module as much as possible.
Develop & maintain the training modules covering their standards.
Perform training to worldwide simultaneous engineering teams (through a Technical Institute)
Design Reviews
Perform the RAISE Design Reviews for all projects in their scope of ownership.
Assess the implementation of standards and the technical risks (incl. manufacturability) based on applicable checklists.
Define with the engineering teams the relevant action plans and track the progress.
Assess de-standardization requests issued by project teams.
Continuous improvement & innovation
Ensure continuous improvement of standards through development of technologies & product functions, innovation and technology watch.
Support to engineering teams
Support the engineering teams to solve difficult technical issues when needed.
Support by participating in customer or supplier meetings when needed.
Promote RAISE methodology and usage of standards. Develop team spirit with engineering teams.
LET´s TALK ABOUT YOU:
1. Technical Skills Required:
a) Standardization & Documentation Expertise
Experience in creating and managing technical standards
Knowledge of ISO, IEEE, ASTM, SAE, IEC, and other relevant industry standards
Ability to write clear, concise, and structured documentation
Familiarity with version control systems for managing updates to standards
b) Engineering & Domain Knowledge
Strong background in the technical field relevant to their industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, IT, manufacturing, energy, etc.)
Understanding of best practices, industry regulations, and compliance requirements
Ability to analyze and apply lessons learned (LLCs) from past projects
c) Data Analysis & Problem-Solving
Ability to analyze failure reports, feedback from projects, and lessons learned to improve standards
Skills in data-driven decision-making to refine technical guidelines
Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA cycle)
d) Digital Tools & Knowledge Management
Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, PLM tools)
Ability to use collaboration platforms for standardization work (e.g., Teams, Slack, JIRA)
Understanding of knowledge management systems to make standards easily accessible and user-friendly
e) Project & Process Management
Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP, PRINCE2)
Ability to manage standardization projects and coordinate across multiple teams
Understanding of process mapping and workflow optimization to ensure standards are easy to use
