Join Swift’s Compliance team

Swift strives to operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and Swift’s Compliance team has the mission to make that happen. We’ve recently launched a major governance and regulatory change programme—so the team is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced compliance professional who enjoys bringing structure, clarity and momentum to complex topics.

As Compliance Specialist – Governance & Reporting, you’ll support the senior specialist and the wider Compliance team in how Compliance communicates risk, issues and priorities to Executive Management and the Board. You’ll contribute to an evolving capability—helping strengthen ways of working, raising the quality of insight, and ensuring a clear, consistent and coherent view of Compliance risks, issues and priorities.

Role purpose

This role supports the effective operation of Compliance governance and Compliance reporting at Swift.

You will support the Compliance Committee and help coordinate the quality and consistency of Compliance reporting across Swift for the Committee, Executive Management, Board Committees and the Supervisory Board—bringing together inputs into a single, coherent view of key risks, issues, regulatory priorities and actions.

You will also provide support to the broader Compliance team as required, including contributing to cross‑functional initiatives and ad‑hoc priorities.

The capability is new and evolving, with core structures already in place. The role focuses on strengthening discipline, clarity and effectiveness, and supporting the continued maturation of governance and reporting over time.

Key responsibilities

Compliance Committee

  • Support the management of the Compliance Committee end‑to‑end (agenda, submissions, minutes/actions, follow‑up), keeping the forum focused and effective.
  • Ensure leaders receive clear, relevant and timely information—prioritised to support oversight and decisions.
  • Keep strong governance discipline around escalation paths, decision records and action tracking—so nothing critical gets lost.
  • Support maintenance of the terms of reference for the Compliance Committee, including periodic reviews and updates.

Executive & Board Reporting

  • Support the end‑to‑end Compliance reporting cycle for all stakeholders, including the Chief Compliance Officer, Executive Management, the Management Board, Board Committees and the Supervisory Board.
  • Make reporting accurate, consistent and easy to navigate, with a joined‑up narrative across forums.
  • Coordinate across Legal, Compliance, Risk and the business to prevent duplication, close gaps and avoid conflicting messages.

Quality, Insight & Narrative

  • Support Compliance teams to improve the quality and clarity of what is reported, and raise queries where needed.
  • Draw out key themes, emerging risks and areas of concern, ensuring they are appropriately highlighted.
  • Ensure reporting supports informed discussion and decision‑making, not just information sharing.

Capability Maturity

  • Support the definition and embedding of strong ways of working, standards and expectations for Compliance governance and reporting.
  • Contribute to improvements to the Compliance Committee and reporting approach as the function matures and expectations evolve.
  • Help document and maintain governance and reporting processes, procedures, templates and playbooks—making it easy for teams to follow a consistent, high‑quality approach.
  • Work closely with the CCO and senior Compliance leaders (and their teams) to align governance and reporting with Compliance strategy and priorities.

Leadership

  • Support the Senior Specialist - Compliance Governance & Reporting role(s) by coordinating inputs, maintaining high‑quality materials, and helping ensure timeliness.
  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Compliance, Risk and the wider organisation—communicating clearly and confidently.

Experience & profile

  • 5+ years’ experience in Compliance, Risk, governance or regulatory change within a regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting Executive Committees and/or Board‑level committees (e.g., preparing packs, coordinating inputs, and tracking actions), or similar senior governance forums, preferred
  • Experience designing, maintaining and improving reporting (dashboards, packs and MI), with strong attention to data accuracy, data quality checks, controls, versioning and single‑source‑of‑truth principles, or similar reporting and MI governance.
  • Exceptional ability to distil complex information into clear, decision‑useful insights and a coherent narrative.
  • A builder’s mindset: you enjoy improving operating models, setting standards, and making governance/reporting work better for everyone.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and evolving expectations—able to bring order, priorities and pace.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to deliver at pace with appropriate guidance in a dynamic, international environment.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and a visible commitment to high‑quality delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confident stakeholder management and presentation.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
