WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As an Expert Product Line Manager for North America Express Lane Footwear team, we are looking for someone who will be a leader within our product creation team and will bring a positive attitude and ability to bring people together. This person will work with various groups across the organization, as well as external account partners, to help move the team and the product forward.
We are looking for someone who can drive and manage all facets of the product creation process. This person will be responsible for creating consumer-led product briefs that will serve our North America marketplace needs. This person will also need to understand and leverage market trends, consumer behaviors & analytics to create insights to bring new products to our consumer.
This person will need to represent the consumer, have a passion for product, fashion, color, and style. They also need excellent communication skills as well as be able to work in a highly matrixed organization, where they will influence, collaborate, and create consensus. They will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as a high level of attention to detail and the ability to create and drive an efficient process. This individual should be able to work well in ambiguity, can evolve and refine the operating model they work within, and can lead a cross-functional team in the creation of product.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As an Expert Product Line Manager for North America Express Lane (NAEL) FW, you will be responsible for the product creation process from initial concept through to commercialization. You will work closely with Merchandising and leverage account-specific insights to lead the creation process while meeting critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals. You will be focused on creating product for some of Nike’s key accounts, which will require close partnership with Nike merchandising teammates and key-account representatives.
You will distill consumer and marketplace insights and create compelling briefs, in additional to working with all product partners to ensure product excellence. You will present the culmination of this work to our cross functional partners and external account partners to enable the full end to end process to come to life. You will be responsible for achieving revenue and margin goals. You will be responsible for coordinating and communicating the line or specific products to internal and external audiences.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This individual will lead product strategy, consumer work, and product creation processes for the overall product line in collaboration with the Sr Product Director. You will work with both the Performance and Lifestyle product management teams as well all key stakeholders/functions that are involved in the consumer creation process – development, design, inline product teams, materials etc. Additionally, this person will partner with NA Merchandising (Consumer nad MPU) and external business partners on marketplace positioning, product storytelling, and geo insights/franchise health.
WHAT YOU BRING
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
8+ years of product experience or related experience in merchandising, retail, product, with at least 2 years in footwear creation
Strong consumer and marketplace knowledge (preferably with North America Marketplace specific experience)
Proven track record of displaying strong business acumen & strategic decision making
Great product eye and attention to detail
An appreciation and understanding of macro/micro-culture, style, luxury, and streetwear
Experience monitoring and understanding trends, and applying that understanding to product briefs is preferred
Proven track record of fostering a collaborative team environment
Great presentation and communication skills – experience presenting to Senior Leaders within Nike and External Partners
Proven leadership authenticity and credibility with internal and external partners
Self-starter/entrepreneurial spirit and ability to navigate through ambiguity
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
