Lead CAD Engineer

Job Introduction

You will lead 3D modeling activities for new products by developing reusable CAD assets and guiding the new product development team to drive overall efficiency. Additionally, you will engage with CAD/PLM users to identify, drive, and implement process improvements, ensuring streamlined workflows and optimized design practices across teams.

Main responsibilities

  • Support & mentor the Asia CATIA users in their efficient creation of new products using CATIA and PLM
  • Host & document CAD Planning meetings with project team members
  • Deliver Global Tools & Outdoor PLM/CAD Communications from EATO to the Asia Community; translating as needed
  • Test & provide feedback on functions & processes in CAD/PLM
  • Use CATIA to:
    • Create, modify & review reusable (2D & 3D) assets for platforms that support New Product Development
    • Create component and assembly models to support the new product development as required
  • Deliver CATIA training (Onsite & Remote) for new users and specific courses as identified; translating material as needed
  • Provide regular support for end users – support calls
  • Provide input, create, or modify documentation to support processes and/or instructional materials related to CAD/PLM
  • Create and review Changes in PLM
  • Work collaboratively with other EATO Team members to complete related tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and related fields
  • Strong parametric 3D CAD skills: CATIA (V5-6 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE) preferred in the areas of Part Design, Assembly Design, Sheetmetal, Drawings, Surfacing, Knowledgeware, etc.
  • 8 years + product development experience preferable
  • Understanding of GD&T methodology and 2D drafting principles
  • Experience of PLM system usage e.g. ENOVIA, Windchill, Smart Team, Teamcenter or similar
  • Good communication skills (including English), verbal, PowerPoint, email, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external diverse workforce
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes, e.g. Injection Molding, Casting, Sheetmetal, etc.
  • Knowledge of CAD/PLM industry trends including use of Artificial Intelligence
