Job Summary
- We are seeking a seasoned Lead, Techno-Functional Finance BI professional for Data Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SAP Finance, business intelligence, and data engineering principles. This role requires a strong ability to collaborate with both business and tecnical teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that drive informed decision-making. This role is responsible for leading the development and success of software products or features. The role formulates strategies and meticulous software plans for organization's platforms and technologies. The role recruits, motivates, mentors, coaches, develops, and retains a high-performing team of product managers and product marketers.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Plays a leadership role and drives the progress of the product management function.
- ETL Development: Design and implement efficient ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay updated on emerging data technologies and tools, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance data capabilities. Monitors competitive market to determine client needs for certain product improvements.
- Business Partnership: Strategically partners with key senior stakeholders to understand needs and priorities. Collaborate closely with Finance stakeholders to understand data requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and ensure data quality.
- Data Modeling: Develop robust data models and schemas to support complex financial analysis and reporting. Recommends product requirements and definitions to align with stakeholder's needs.
- Data Engineering Leadership: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and structures to support Finance BI initiatives, by collaborating with the engineering team.
- Leads cross-functional teams through agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Advises key stakeholders on the portfolio strategy across all phases of the lifecycle.
- Tracks and reports key metrics to drive future product developments.
- Demonstrates process improvement and project management experience, preferably with the implementation of large projects.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in Finance, with a strong focus on Finance, BI and data engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP Finance modules (FI, CO, etc.) and their integration with data platforms. Proven experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data marts. Strong SQL and database management skills. Proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., Python, Spark, Azure cloud platform).
- Experience with BI tools and technologies (e.g., SAP BW/4HANA, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business or technology.
- Certifications in SAP Finance or data engineering.
- Experience in Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
