Machine Operator 4– Colorado Springs, Colorado

Machine Operator 4

Responsible for operation of one or more machines within a process area involving set up, feeding, racking, operating, tooling, preventative maintenance and clean up.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform twisting, bending, reaching and forceful repetitive motions that require the use of shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, waist, legs and neck to lift parts from metal pans.
  • Place parts on machine holding devices and removes them after they have been machined.
  • Operate computer controlled equipment throughout the shift.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds from floor to waist level throughout the shift.
  • Stand on concrete floors for up to 10 hours every day.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, dirty environment.
  • Operate high production equipment.
  • Distinguish between various parts.
  • Visually examine throughout the entire shift individual metal parts for finish and damage.
  • Set up, change and adjust machine tooling to accommodate parts being machined.
  • Change and/or adjust tooling and make offset changes when needed.
  • Clean and perform preventative maintenance as needed in order to maintain the equipment in optimum operating conditions at all times.
  • Wear protective safety equipment throughout the entire shift.  This includes safety glasses and earplugs.
  • Maintain production reports, tracking downtime, set up time, parts produced, etc.
  • Use basic PC skills.
  • Maintain safety requirements in work area.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Demonstrate good hand/eye coordination.
  • Demonstrate accurate decision making skills.
  • Visually identify and differentiate between metals.
  • Ability to handle different types and sizes of metal parts made of brass or stainless steel.
  • Work with various machining oils.
  • Frequently lift up to 35 pounds from floor to waist height.
  • Stand on concrete floors 8 hours or more per shift.
  • Write English, alpha and numeric characters.
  • Understand English instructions both written and verbal.
  • Perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimal system and fractions.
  • Read and understand basic measurement tools-go/no go gauges.
  • Knowledge of SPC.
  • Perform rapid visual inspection.
  • Ability to work alone and with other people.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.  

  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $16.97 - $25.17.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
