ABOUT THIS POSITION

This role will work with new and emerging technologies encompassing hardware and software. This role will be responsible for working with the Infrastructure Operations Manager to design, develop, configure, and document existing, as well as new, technologies and environments to be utilized throughout the Systems Engineering environments. This will include hardware, operating systems, network & network switches, security, server platforms, & emerging technologies, etc

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Works in a cutting edge and continually changing SaaS datacenter environment  

  • Works with the Infrastructure Operations Manager on new projects that arise from business needs 

  • Creates documentation that will be utilized in the deployment and maintenance of new technologies and systems throughout the company’s infrastructure 

  • Analyzes systems requirements and ensures that the systems will offer security, and will be effectively integrated with the current applications 

  • Develops and maintains an open and fluid communication relationship with the Infrastructure Operations Manager 

  • Works with the Infrastructure Operations Manager to determine the production environment requirements and needs, with acceptable deployment timelines and roadmaps 

  • Works with other teams to ensure successful transitions and the knowledge transfer of new technologies 

  • Evaluates and communicates to the Infrastructure Operations Manager, areas that require new or improved technology solutions 

  • Brings to the attention of the respective parties, any problems that negatively impact the company’s infrastructure 

  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with other direct team members and the team members of other departments 

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Management, within the area of responsibility for this position 

  • Maintains network equipment, analyzes changes, and modifies equipment configurations as needed for business purposes 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 6+ years’ experience administrating servers in a datacenter environment   

  • Extensive experience with Windows and Linux Server administration and support  

  • Advanced experience with automation strategies including scripting in PowerShell, Python, and/or SQL. 

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems with little oversight  

  • Demonstrated ability to review, revise, and create detailed documentation to facilitate consistent process adherence. 

  • Extensive experience with BCDR technologies and strategies. 

  • Understands the concepts around virtual and physical server environments  

  • Can work independently on projects   

  • Ownership of individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables  

  • Ability to support a VMware vSphere , Hyper-V, and other hypervisor environments   

  • Good understanding of firewall concepts, and thorough understanding of their implementation  

  • Network monitoring experience, using PRTG or similar tools  

  • Working knowledge of network switches, routers, & VPN tunnels  

  • Can design solutions with the overall product direction in mind  

  • Able to plan and initiate a multi-sprint project  

  • Clear communicator across departments  

  • Demonstrated skills in working tactfully with people to resolve technical problems   

  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking  

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
