Requirments:
All Creatures Pet Hospital is actively seeking a full-time experienced veterinary technician. The ideal candidate will be confident working with the veterinarians and technicians, comfortable in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, surgery recovery, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint, have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, drawing blood and running bloodwork, able to use laboratory equipment, understands the importance of client education, is a positive and supportive team player, and strives to continue to increase their knowledge in the veterinary industry and able to remain calm in a high-stress environment.
Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician a must.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong ability to communicate medical information with clients.
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred but experience can qualify the right candidate.
Patience, compassion and a strong attention to detail.
Works well under pressure
Able to lift 30 lbs unassisted and over 30 lbs with assistance
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
Knowledge of in-house lab testing including microscopy
