Job Summary

The Executive Vice President (EVP), Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations at The Walt Disney Company is a pivotal role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This executive position, based in New York, NY, is responsible for leading long-term strategic planning initiatives and managing investor relations to support the company's growth objectives. The EVP will oversee three teams dedicated to Corporate Strategy, Investor Relations, and Decision Science and Integration, ensuring alignment with Disney's overall business goals and fostering relationships with investors, stakeholders, and partners.

Responsibilities

The EVP, Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of The Walt Disney Company. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong financial acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage investor relations and drive business growth. The EVP will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for investor inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses. Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key investors, fostering a deep understanding of their investment preferences, objectives, and concerns.
  • Leading investor meetings, calls, and presentations, including quarterly updates and annual meetings.
  • Developing and maintaining strong, transparent, and proactive communication channels with current and prospective investors.
  • Overseeing the preparation and distribution of financial reports, presentations, and other materials for investors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive business strategies to facilitate company growth, focusing on long-term goals and profitability.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to execute strategic projects, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Analyzing competitive market landscapes and identifying opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
  • Fostering strategic partnerships and relationships with external stakeholders to enhance business opportunities and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends, macroeconomic factors, and regulatory developments that may impact Disney's investment strategies and performance.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to senior management based on market intelligence and investor feedback to enhance decision-making and competitive positioning.
  • Leading, developing, and coaching future Disney strategy and investor relations leaders by encouraging staff growth and development through diverse and rewarding experiences.
  • Clearly communicating and establishing a clear vision with deliverables and measurable objectives.

Requirements

  • 15 years’ experience in the finance industry with focus on strategy and long-term planning with progressive leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in investor relations, corporate finance, investment banking, or related fields within the financial services industry.
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Dynamic leader, who leads by example and mentors a team to meet high profile and dynamic objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze data, and develop actionable insights to drive business performance.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and fiduciary responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Skills

  • Leadership of Corporate Strategy and/or Investor Relation functions of a high profile, brand iconic public company, including 5+ years of professional experience within the Media and Entertainment industry and/or a technology company, is highly desired
  • Experience within investment banking

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Marketing, or Strategic Management

Preferred Education

  • Masters of Business Administration
The hiring range for this position is confidential. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
