Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to drive excellence in Systems Engineering, Functional Safety, and Validation across Body, Chassis, and HVAC domains in next-generation automotive platforms. This role combines strategic oversight of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Model-Based Design (MBD), and safety-critical systems, with hands-on leadership in automation, cockpit systems, and global validation programs. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, cross-domain leadership, and a passion for innovation in embedded systems, safety compliance, and intelligent vehicle technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Systems Engineering & Functional Safety
2. Lead MBSE initiatives using SysML and tools like Cameo, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect.
3. Architect system-level requirements and traceability frameworks for Body, Chassis, and HVAC systems.
4. Drive Model-Based Design using MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and integrated toolchains for control and thermal management systems.
5. Own the Functional Safety lifecycle per ISO 26262 / IEC 61508, including HARA, safety concepts, and validation.
6. Conduct safety analysis (FMEA, FTA, HARA) and ensure compliance with ASPICE and cybersecurity standards.
7. Integrate engineering workflows with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing environments.
8. Domain Validation & Automation
9. Lead validation of Body and Chassis features including door modules, lighting systems, suspension control, and HVAC performance.
10. Architect scalable automation frameworks using dSPACE, IPG-CARMAKER, and simulation tools tailored to thermal and mechanical domains.
11. Manage global validation programs across Body Electronics, Chassis Control, HVAC, and Vehicle Dynamics.
12. Develop data analytics and ML-based tools for real-time and offline performance analysis using Python, OpenCV, and AI frameworks.
13. Drive innovation in thermal modelling, indigenous feature development, and digital twin technologies for HVAC and chassis systems.
14. Cockpit Systems & Collaboration
15. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and internal engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality body and comfort solutions
16. Client-Facing Engagements: Represent the organization in customer discussions, technical workshops, and solution presentations to align technology offerings with client needs.
17. Technical Solutioning: Architect and validate end-to-end Body Chassis and HVAC solutions tailored to customer requirements and platform capabilities.
18. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and internal engineering teams to deliver scalable, Body Chassis and HVAC solutions.
19. Client-Facing Engagements: Represent the organization in customer discussions, technical workshops, and solution presentations to align technology offerings with client needs.
20. Technical Solutioning: Architect and validate end-to-end solutions tailored to customer requirements and platform capabilities.
21. Vendor/Supplier Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and integration readiness.
22. Onsite-Offshore Coordination: Lead distributed teams across geographies, ensuring seamless collaboration, delivery alignment, and knowledge sharing.
23. Quality Assurance: Implement robust validation frameworks.
24. Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and domain experts in Body Chassis and HVAC systems.
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. 15-20 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, validation, and functional safety across Body, Chassis, HVAC, and Cockpit domains.
2. Expertise in ISO 26262, ASPICE, and systems engineering principles.
3. Proficiency in SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and safety analysis techniques.
4. Strong command of CAN, LIN, GMLAN, diagnostics, and communication protocols.
5. Hands-on experience with tools like DOORS, Polarion, JIRA, dSPACE, ETAS-INCA, Vector CANoe, vehicleSpy.
6. Programming skills in Python, OpenCV, TCL, CAPL, SCAPY.
7. Exposure to AUTOSAR, embedded systems, and real-time software.
8. Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity standards.
9. Experience in Agile, SAFe, and V-model development environments.
10. Experience in benchmarking and indigenous equipment development.
Additional Information:
1. The candidate should have minimum 15 years of experience in Automotive Functional Safety.
2. This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
3. A Bachelors or Masters degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is required.
