Job Description: Enterprise RTR SME

                                                            

The Enterprise RTR SME (Record to Report Subject Matter Expert) is a finance professional with deep expertise across the end‑to‑end Record to Report lifecycle. This role serves as a critical bridge between accounting, finance operations, ERP systems, and compliance, ensuring that financial data generated through enterprise ERP deployments is accurate, timely, compliant, and decision‑ready.

The Enterprise RTR SME supports the ERP Lead partnership with the RTR Global Process Owner (GPO) to ensure that each ERP deploy and finance transformation initiative achieve enterprise‑wide standardization, consistency, and effective management of process interdependencies across regions, business segments, and reporting jurisdictions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise finance transformation initiatives across RTR in collaboration with project leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Execute and deploy approved Enterprise Foundation Design decisions within ERP implementations, aligned to business segment and finance shared services.
  • Act as a key finance SME for ERP implementations (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion), providing recommendations and driving critical decisions to ensure successful delivery.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional finance teams (RTR, PTP, OTC) and implementation partners to ensure end‑to‑end process alignment.
  • Ensure future processes are aligned with ERP best‑practice models and support simplicity, standardization, scalability, and compliance.
  • Play a key role in the rollout of edge and finance enablement applications, such as: Manual Journal Entry and Enterprise Account Reconciliation tools
  • Provide finance SME input for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) during system deployments, working closely with RTR project leads to ensure alignment with Enterprise RTR strategy.
  • Support enterprise finance system strategies, including: Global business requirements collection and validation, User case identification, Test scenario preparation and execution and Training content development from an RTR perspective
  • Partner with Finance leadership and Shared Service Centers to define and execute effective change management and adoption plans for new RTR capabilities.
  • Support the transition of RTR processes into steady‑state operations, ensuring successful handover to operational and shared services teams.
  • Provide SME support for business transformation initiatives, ERP‑related ad‑hoc projects, and post‑go‑live stabilization efforts.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance operations
  • Strong foundation in financial accounting and controlling
  • Experience designing, documenting, and optimizing end‑to‑end process flows
  • Prior exposure to global ERP templates and large‑scale implementations
  • Experience working within or supporting global or regional finance shared services
  • Effective English communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across finance, IT, and business stakeholders

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field (required)
  • CPA preferred, or equivalent experience in controllership or accounting leadership roles
