Job Description:

JOB DUTIES: Under the direction of the Park Superintendent will assist in supervising and perform technical work on the marina operations, marina landscape and dock maintenance. Supervise and carry out various operating tasks involved in historical and recreational programming, campgrounds, trails, partnerships, day use operations and maintenance, grounds keeping, housekeeping, education, equipment maintenance, special events, collections management, coordinate with park concessions and marina store, emergency response and accident prevention. Hire, train and supervise seasonal workforce. Perform and oversee fee and permit sales and other office operations including computer operations and programming. Maintain records and prepare appropriate reports. Assist with agency special events and projects at Lewis & Clark SRA and other district/agency locations.


 

Requirements/ Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Two years of coursework in an institution of higher education AND one year of related experience. Experience (paid or volunteer) in park management or related field may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. Other related fields may include (but not limited to) the following: wildlife, fisheries, natural resource management, environmental science, public relations, tourism/hospitality, business or public administration, education/interpretation, history, cultural resource management, recreation, retail management, criminal justice, and horticulture. 

Other: Driver's license is required.


 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:  Ability to plan, manage, analyze and evaluate park programs. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and application of park and cultural resources management and conservation. Knowledge of departmental rules and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain community and public relations with business, special interest groups, and state, local and federal agencies. Knowledge of park operations, administration and financial management. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to supervise subordinate staff and to enforce park rules and regulations.
